November Monthly Meeting

November Presentation & Luncheon

11:30 a.m.  at Miramont Country Club in Bryan

PRESENTATION BY
Kimberly D. Shapiro
Managing Partner, Sage Search Partners
Speaker & Podcast Co-Host of Big Girl Pants Podcast

PROGRAM TOPIC:
Leading and Building Diverse Teams

Being a great leader starts with the ability to build a great team. Building a great team starts with an open mind. An open mind is the center of diversity. While diversity is becoming more common in today’s workforce, we still have a long way to go. Diversity allows us to explore new ways of thinking, it opens our minds, breeds creativity and innovation. By exploring other ideas, beliefs, and lifestyles with an open mind, we open ourselves to exercise
creativity and problem solving by looking at things from a new perspective. Believing that our way is the only way will not only impact the growth of a business, but the ability to attract and retain talent. Many falsely believe that hiring like-minded people and those that look and act like them is how to build and protect a company culture. This couldn’t be further from the truth. A company culture is built by acceptance, vulnerability, and authenticity.

Kimberly Shapiro is a Managing Partner with Sage Search Partners, Speaker, and Podcast co-host of Big Girl Pants Podcast. She has a Bachelors’ Degree in Organizational Leadership, is currently earning a MS in Organization Leadership and Technology and is a Certified Professional Career Coach. Kimberly has dedicated her life to helping inspire women to achieve success and happiness. Happy people are more productive in all areas of their lives – including work! She truly believes that the battle starts from within.
